It happens out of the blue, almost at random. You'll be minding your own business, when suddenly the Seal that's been assigned as your bank account will make a beeping noise and the green lines on the sides will flash for a moment. Investigate this strange reaction, and you'll eventually find it's the notifier for a money transfer function - specifically, someone sent you some cryptocurrency. Whether it's a small or large amount may depend on how much you stand out, but the source? Apparently it's anonymous, though you can check the transactions from a computer. The suspicious sums will oft be silent, but sometimes they'll have a message attached, like 'because, fuck the govt lmao' or 'HAPPY HUNTING!!' ...Well, even criminals have their fans?? But whether you're getting this crypto from True Crime Fandom, the local Akudama, or someone else, it's now yours to figure out where you're supposed to trade it. When you know, you know.

BLACK MARKET SITE

The dealings are conducted on one of the more obscure anonymous servers of 10chan, but the packages are exchanged in the rooms or behind the shady Net Cafe in Dotonbori - either is a valid way to discover the market. Your mysterious patrons give out 100 cryptos per comment in-game that can naturally be redeemed for prizes. Prizes will be given a minimum price according to a tier ranking system, and they will include both items from player character worlds and items stolen provided locally.

C TIER - 2,500 Cryptos (25 comments)

Prizes in this tier are desirable yet mundane. Examples of things that might go here are unpowered weapons like your run of the mill swords and guns, nonlethal weapons, commonly-known drugs and poisons, small exotic animals like a cobra or a bat, rare gemstones, fine art, high-quality wood and small plants like a potted flower or tomato vine.

Minor magical items that the setting technology could replicate easily may also be found here, such as a wand that can only produce visual illusions (equivalent to the hologram tech seen everywhere in Kansai) or a small exotic animal with only one attack of voltage equivalent to a taser.

B TIER - 5,000 Cryptos (50 comments)
Prizes in this tier are generally large but mundane, or small but extraordinary.

Large but mundane items could be motor vehicles such as a car or steam roller, animals like a horse or a lion, a full suit of non-magical armor, a giant machine gun, a life-sized statue of yourself, or a full grown tree.

Small but extraordinary items could include small-to-medium items with one or two abilities attached. Examples are a pendant that glows when someone is lying to you, a pair of pants that generates a shield around the wearer and makes them move faster, a koala that can hypnotize on eye contact and turns a person into a master swordsman if it's clinging to their back.... other possibilities are something like a single-use magic potion with temporary effects not replicable by poison or other tech (turns the drinker into a llama, instantly heals a mortal wound, makes them invisible, etc)

there's a lot of possible extraordinary abilities, but the judgment for B tier is based on the amount of them, their power relative to ordinary tech, and how limited their use is.

A TIER - 10,000 Cryptos (100 comments)

Anything that's bigger or more powerful than the other two tiers goes in this tier. Super-large "mundane" items like a tank or a dinosaur could go here, but for the most part, this category is for items that come with 3 or more regular abilities (such an armor with flight, guns, and analyzes your opponent for you) or powerful single abilities with lasting effects (such as an invisibility cap that can be used indefinitely), a creature that can turn the owner into an entire magical girl, etc.

Of course, there is a catch to all of this: each week, there will be a limited number of items for sale, only one person can buy each item, and each person can only buy one item. Therefore, there will also be a bit of bidding involved! Each tier will have a minimum bid of comments, but from there, you can add more to increase your chances of winning the bid. For example, if you did 69 comments with your character that week, you could bid on a C tier rank item for 50 comments with an additional + 19. For ranks C and B, the maximum bid is capped before the next tier up, so for a B tier that would be 149. If multiple bidders put in 149 comments for a B tier item, the winner will be decided by RNG, but otherwise whoever bids the most will get the item. A mod will track the bids to update their status on the page. Tier A will not have a cap.

Items for sale on the Black Market change with new week unlocks. Watch the comments for the new offers, and cast your bids. Any unclaimed items from the previous week will change from bidding items to first-come, first-serve items at the minimum price. Comments on the post are screened. Additionally, the buyers for each item will be anonymous to the game at large. Each individual will have the total amount of crypto they've spent inside a record that can be datamined - it will be possible to tell who has bought things, but not what they bought and when.

The black market will close at 12:00 PM EST Sunday, as the new week post goes up.

FOR WEEK 4, SO THAT ITEMS CAN BE COLLECTED BEFORE ENDGAME, WE ARE TAKING EVERYTHING ON A FIRST-COME FIRST-SERVE BASIS TO BE DELIVERED IMMEDIATELY.
